Definitely a surprisingly good game!!

At first sight, Golden Sun looks like one of your plain, simple, frustrating RPGs for the GBA that are scattered around your room. However, once you play this game, you'll find out that it's much, much more! I really just get this game originally because EB had it pre-owned for $8.00 and I wanted to find a good RPG. However, once I started playing, I realized that this was THE RPG for GBA! The story starts off simple enough: A village named Vale is having a massive rockslide, and Isaac (one of four main heroes) goes off for safety in the Town Plaza. However, many things happen in between. Isaac goes and gets Garet (the second main hero, who also is trying to bring his heavy bag of stuff with him)) so they can both go to the Town Plaza and escape the rockslide. On the way, Felix is about to drown, so you go get help. You get help, but it's too late. A rock comes down and rolls over Felix! Not to mention that your group of villagers is knocked down. You and Garet go to get MORE help, but you get attacked by a man and a woman (thanks to Garet). Sorry, but I'm stopping at that!! At first, the story of this game is engaging, but sadly, many parts of the game seem pointless (many caves and dungeouns are just running through and fighting). Luckily, the battle system is fun and immersive (classic Final Fantasy style with a bit of a different twist). Not only that, but when the story returns to its lively self (which the time frame varies from one dungeoun to many dungeouns until the story returns), it gives you that rare "oh my God this game rocks!" feeling. Overall, this game is wonderful, and my only problems are that Djinni collecting are mostly storyless (Djinni have alot to do with battles) and that sometimes it takes a while until the story livens up some more. As for now, I'm still finishing this game, and soon I'll be doing my "Golden Sun:The Lost Age" review! Happy Playing (I mean video games, you nasty people!)!!
