Boring, generic console trash
The music and sound effects are fine. The main screen music is actually quite soothing.
Graphics are quite good for the wii, even the character models.
Aiming isn't the worst I've played on the wii. Its better controlled than metroid prime 3.
The enemy AI actually uses (and dives into) cover pretty well. It impressed me more than once.
Cons-
Pretty much everything beyond the first 2-3 levels.
The aiming, while better that analog, still feels drunken as hell. You can't hit anything thats near cover without using the auto-aim function, and there is no point in playing if the game auto-aims all the shots. At very close range its pretty easy to free-aim kill enemies, though.
The cover system is really messed up. Sometimes perfect shots vs enemies in cover won't register because the "destructible" cover has messed up hitboxes. Its just the opposite with player cover. You constantly get shot through and over cover and it really doesn't make sense. You can't tell if you're getting shredded or just getting knicked through weak cover. Its a nightmare.
The first few levels are actually enjoyable, but after that they are extremely similar and dull. Its just an endless repeating sequence of *run in seemingly empty room-ambushers pour in from every window and duck into cover-mindlessly use the cover-auto-aim to pick them off while getting the fug shot out of you.
I had a LOT of trouble forcing myself to play all the way through these boring levels.
I couldn't bring myself to finish the game. I got just a few levels away from the finale, but I already know what to friggin' expect. Cover-strown ambushes, one after another. I also haven't tried multiplayer because I bought the game for the campaign (if I want respectible FPS multiplayer I have a gaming pc).
So yeah, avoid this game is you expect ANYTHING similar to the n64 experience. There is literally nothing similar about it, don't let the opening movie at the Dam level fool you, its all cutscenes there.
