This game saved the N64...one of the best games ever, on ANY console, past and present.
I remember, back in the day, when I bought my N64 at the beginning of 1997. It wasnt out very long, and I wasnt impressed with the variety of games...well....actually I didnt really care for any of the games except for a handful of them. But anyway, I remember reading in Nintendo Power about this new game called Goldeneye that was being released soon. I thought that this game looked so promising, I actually paid a $10 deposit to reserve the game. When I brought this game home, I was a huge fan within minutes. The cartridge based N64 had redeemed itself. The funny thing is, is that Nintendo Power actually had a forum one month about Goldeneye; something about it being the best game or something, and I wrote in with my opinion and it was actually published in the magazine.
Well, I'm not really going to review the game itself. I am sure if you are reading this you are a fellow fan and probably already know the game very well. If you have never played it....just buy it. You can find it easily on Ebay. I remember playing all of the missions, hearing the music, etc...but I also had a lot of fun in the multiplayer mode. Every played it with Remote Mines? Thats fun. After playing this game, I rented the movie, and after that, I became a big 007 fan...even the old movies. A very memorable game. If you havent played it in awhile, play it tonight....if you dont have it, grab one on Ebay. Don't forget your covert modem.
