Everyone knows, or has heard, of how great Goldeneye 007 is. Today you may look at it and see a lack of presentation (no voice, no real level introduction), but when it comes down to it the single player missions are still very fun and the multiplayer is just as addictive today even after we've been treated to games like Halo 2. When released there wasnt a better purchase for the N64 or its competitors and the only FPS to beat it on that generation was its follow-up Perfect Dark. The gameplay is largely actiony-arcadey style FPS but it added the idea of having to complete objectives rather than reach an exit which changed things. Often you had to destroy something, collect some items, or protect something form enemies. Today it is commonplace but when Rare released the game it forever changed FPS gaming. For anyone looking for a good game for their old N64 or just for any good game this is still better than most of the garbage available today. Goldeneye is a game you need to own.
