An oldy but a goldy

Goldeneye is one of those games which had a certain magic and feel that made it legendary in FPS history. The game is based on the 007 film Goldeneye and it was a huge hit when it forst hit the stores. When I firtst played it I felt how smooth the controls were. The graphics (now poor in todays standards) are still great and you can easily figure out who is Bond etc so it is still pretty good. The feel of shooting a guard in the head with a sniper rifle was very satisfying giving you a grin on your face after seeing their bodies fall to the floor like a sack of potatoes. The AI was pretty inteligent if they hear a gunshot they will immediatly investigate the area and they are likely to find you with their wit and cunning. And in certain areas you get to drive a tank and the feel of mowing down guards was very fun as you hear the crunch under the tracks and it's not just the gameplay it's the feel of being Bond. You get to use your time bombs and use your remote control mines with your hi-tech watch and the watch can fire lasers from it which can be a deadly weapon at closes range. The ammount of weapons in the game is extraodinary from throwing knifes to lasers to rocket launchers all to dispose of the helpless enemies. Also the multiplayer is very fun and all but sadly no bots to join. But that doesn't dampen the game's fun Overall the game is legendary in many ways and if you get a chance to buy it do it the game is a must have for all N64 owners
