Easily one of the best James Bond games, and Nintendo 64 games to be released.
Each level is different and had its own feel and different mission. The levels tried to replicate specific points from the movie. And the game did somewhat follow the movie, and now to this day without even playing the game in several years when I watch the movie I cant help but remember parts of the game. That is how much this game has stuck with me.
The graphics were great for the time, but they don’t hold up with todays standards. Some of the levels have some large environments to explore and it can get hard to see where you are going when things take forever to load. The people’s characteristics look awful today, but back in the day they looked great and nobody cared.
The sound stayed true to the James Bond format giving you that perfect James Bond feel. Guns and explosions sounded perfect. The only thing that could have helped this game in sound would have to be communication between characters, nobody likes to read.
The biggest selling point for this game, and what really gives a reason to buy this game today would have to be the Multi-player. Although you cant play co-op, fighting against each other in variety of different deathmatch styles, with different guns, characters, and levels is very enjoyable. This is where the unlockables from beating the game on higher different difficulty settings come into play. Here you can unlock things like paint-ball mode where all your guns shot paint balls instead of bullets or DK mode where everyone sort of look like a Donkey Kong character. The Multiplayer gives this game the high score it deserves.
This game is must have for any Nintendo 64 owner.
