I'm not a huge Nintendo OR 007 fan, but this game is simply amazing.

User Rating: 9.6 | GoldenEye 007 N64
Goldeneye. There have been several movies made on this topic, and finally on the N64, an official game is released, based straight off the movies. Wit hall the gadgets, wonderful graphics, and great weaponry, how could you go wrong? Here's the answer: You can't.

The gameplay of Goldeneye is simply exceptional. This is the first fps on The N64, and this game proves that FPS really can work on this console, even with one joystick. Since you don't have another joystick, the game features an auto aim mode that works amazingly well. You use the analog stick to move around, and hold the right trigger for an aiming reticle, but you won't need the aiming reticle much except for when you have a sniper rifle. The auto aim is great, but you'll think, "Won't this ruin the multiplayer?" It absolutely won't. Multiplayer still depends on the players abilities in tactics and aim, even though it helps you out a little. Goldeneye has a great health system that's very believable. The HUD does a good job of not showing too many icons on the screen at once. The only icon that stays on the HUD the whole time is the ammo bar. It just displays what gun you're using and how much ammo is in the gun. As for the health bar, this only pops up when you're losing or gaining health, which is a great help. The single player campaign also features some out of this world enemy AI. Many enemies can be on the screen at once, which means that the game has a great framerate as well. But, as for the enemies intelligence, they are very smart and will flank you, throw grenades, retreat, and even talk some smack to you here and there. The gameplay is simply revolutionary. Any N64 owner should be smart and give this one a go.

Graphics are pretty much great in the game. The only gripe I have is some of the character models look a little blocky sometimes. But, other than that, the weapons and enviroment are very well done. The graphics are very decent, but just not as good as the gameplay.

Sound is brutal in Goldeneye. Huge, loud gunshots and explosions are heard throughout, and it's all very satisfying to get massive guns and listen to their roaring gunshots. Blowing things up with rocket launchers have to be one of the most satisfying, that's for sure. In the single player, there are many destructible enviroments, so there's plenty of stuff to explode and listen to the brutality of it all.

Value is really great on Goldeneye. The single player is very, very lengthy, and it contains a multiplayer mode for four players. The MP is insanely addicting, and at some times it can be even more fun than the single player. Especially of you have 3 buds around to play with you. All the weapons and TONS of maps are included in the multiplayer giving the game huge amounts of replay value.

I LOVED this game. Alot. I'm not a big fan of Nintendo or 007, but when it comes to this game, I'm a fanatic. Come over and play me. I dare you.
