Bond. James Bond. Wait, NOT! This game is disappointing, and not up to the James Bond standard. Say no to this game.
The gameplay is nothing special. Have you played any FPS lately? If so, then you'll find nothing new in this title. Wait! You get the "goldeneye," a device that can do several things such as see through walls along with three other cheesy effects. Ooooh. I give them credit for trying, even if they didn't try very hard.
So, it's Bond, right? There must be a decent storyline. Well...it's interesting. Several villains from the films facing off against one another. Sounds interesting, and it is...for a while. It quickly gets old as you can easily anticipate every backstab that's going to occur. Oh, by the way, Bond dies in the first scene of the game. You instead play as "Goldeneye" (sound familiar? Well it has nothing to do with the most excellent N64 game of the same name, so don't get your hopes up.)
I must admit, though: the AI was somewhat decent. Much better than some games
The graphics are, actually, pretty good. This is something that pleased me. Levels are fairly detailed, if a little repetitive, and the characters all look very good.
Sound in the game is decent, but nothing special. Like several other FPS games, I feel that the guns sound way too puny. I want to hear a BOOM! Other than that I don't have much to say on sound. It's generic and boring.
Value. Hmm. As the multiplayer is relatively good, it might be worth it for that, but only if you can get a copy for less than $50.00. If you're not into multiplayer or just don't have anyone to play with, I don't suggest buying this game.
It seems as if Goldeneye: Rogue Agent is just an effort to make some quick cash off the Bond franchise. But, hey, I'm a hardcore Bond fan. Maybe it just pissed me off that he died.
