Great customization and car selection = Amazing game
Basically the same graphics as GT1... and in some maps, even worse... However, it DOES have much more variety in cars, so I guess that takes up some space, and gives this game an excuse, somewhat. The only reason this rating is still 8 is simply because I feel that the graphics have already maxed out the PS1's capabilities, so therefore, are not the game designer's fault. Nonetheless, the graphics are nothing spectacular, especially for a racing game, which is dependent on smooth graphics and scenery for the excitement and exhilaration.

Very nice gameplay due to 2 things: 1) the HUGE number of cars to buy. There's even cars from the 50's, 60's, and 70's!!! 2) the total control over customizing your car, AND your racing style. There's a choice for whether you want real simulation, which is using the simulation tires, or using the super soft ones, which is basically arcade racing, where the tires grip the road like they're glued onto it. Great replay value, since you could improve your times endlessly.
