This game is one of the best racing sims to date

User Rating: 9.5 | Gran Turismo 3 A-spec (Platinum) PS2
Ready, set, GO! In Gran Tourismo 3, gamers get to race some of the most unique cars from 2001. Putt along in a Mini Cooper or roar down the track at 200 mph in a TVR Speed 12. Take your time on an oval track, or test your limits on a twisty-turny course. Enjoy the scenery of Tahiti behind the wheel of a customized Subaru Impreza. Slip and slide with a Dodge Viper on a wet track. But most importantly, GO RACE!

In the career mode you first objective is to buy a car(duh). As you start winning races, they will start restricting the aspects of your ride such as engine placement, manufacturer, hp limit, turbo/nonturbo, and what grade of license you need. That's right if you wanna race with the pros, you got to upgrade your style. Also you'll need to deck out your inner power and handling with shop kits. After a few 20 races, your car will need an oil change or two, so pull up to the auto repair place. Another addition to the game is "taxes" where after a few hundred days, car and part prices go up, so buy that rally car before the sticker price reaches $200 000!

The soundtrack is good, featuring Lenny Kravitz, Raekwon, a Snoop Dogg special, and Junkie XL. The songs all have that racing feeling to them so it motivates you to pass that snail up ahead! The proportions of the handling is nice with how the acceleration and braking is all pressure-sensitive to make you want to "floor it." Speaking of floor it, GT3 is compatible with a wheel & pedals accessory kit. It gives you the true driving experience you want.

If you're a gamer who doesn't like Burnout or Project Gotham, this game will fill your head!
