The most realistic driving game ever
User Rating: 10 | Gran Turismo 4 PS2
Gran Turismo 4 is an excellent realistic driving-sim. It has over 40 real life tracks, over 600 cars spanning for more than a century, and it has a long Gran Turismo Mode. This is the most realistic driving game ever created. This is also the longest sequel yet. Let us begin with the graphics Graphics-10/10 With over 600 cars, each car looks exactly the same as the real life car. In fact, the cars look as if they are on live T.V. The environment of the courses is also very breath-taking. Also every car racing has reflections which match exactly with the area you’re in! When you turn your car descends at an angle giving you a feel of real racing. It’s also nice to see that the car washing and oil changing have improved; now you see the workers fixing up the car. Now the tracks are also better since in a few tracks you ride up on side of mountain. Also in a 12 mile track, it is exactly the same as it is real life with the graffiti on the streets and scenery. Sounds-10/10 Each car has their own engine sounds such as accelerating and even going up a gear. When you go through tunnels your engine will echo throughout the whole tunnel. Braking and skidding are also great sounds, but I wished for a better ‘bumping’ sound. Music is great with a load of songs. They have rock, techno, funk, hip-hop, classical, and many more! It’s great to listen to classical music during a replay of super-cars. However you cannot change to the songs you want when your racing so it’s a good idea to select the songs you like before hand. Too bad you can’t honk your horn. Gameplay-10/10 With over 600 cars, it would be almost impossible to play each car. There are also a huge variety of events to compete in. It’s also nice to just see replays and look at how cool the car’s are. If you’re bored in Gran Turismo mode you can race online and put your skills to the test. Now the GT team has also added something new. You can now have a computer drive your car through any level while you take a picture of your car with the beautiful scenery. If you tend to play with classic cars go ahead, this sequel has over 50 classic cars even the popular Dodge Charger. Difficulty is not too bad either; it depends on your skill level. If you play like a pro then they also do, but if you play like a newbie then they will be easy on you. That way you won’t get so much annoyed that you haven’t beaten a cup since it’s not too hard nor too easy. All in all it’s pure racing at its best. Value-10/10 This is worth even $100 bucks, more than 100 hours of gameplay and so many cars to choose from you would never be able to beat the whole game in a week or 2. It’s the best of the series because of the new additions; more classic cars, a huge amount of tracks, and just the feel of real racing. There’s no doubt on this one, just buy it since if you rent it, you would only play a minor portion of the game. Have fun playing!
