Gran turismo 4 is one of the best ever to be realesd on play station 2 console. For one thing its got over 700 officialy lisenced cars which have their own different driving control, speed and handeling, same as the real world.Then the tracks, the tracks are the same as the the real ones plus there are tracks like the grand canneon (which do not exist in the real world)but are pritty cool.The developers have taken care of every little detail in the game which makes the game glitch free.(maybe not glitch free but.....it hardly has any noticable glitches).The AI is pritty good wich increases or dicreases acording to your level.ok now the career mode, you start the mode with currency 10,000 with wich you have to buy your very first car, You can't directly buy a new car with 10,000 so you will have to settle with a second hand car(Yes the game even offers second hand cars).Once you change the oil in your car you can start raching.with a licence(Yes licence) You can participate in the bigginers tournoment, which is pritty easy.And by winning the the tournoment you star earning(start saving and buy your self a new car).
now you will need licences to unlock the new and harder races.Getting licences is not as easy as it looks, you have to drive through a course with out dashing even once and within a time limit.It takes a while to get the hang of it.then there are these turning challenges where you have to make the perfect turn. There are the medals offered to u according to your result , The gold if you finishin the first set of time, then the silver if you finish in the second set of time and then the bronze for the last set of time limit. And If you cant even get the bronze then you will have to try again for the licences.
you will get used to it after a few trys.
The game also offers the B-spec mode . Its something like a maneger mode. you have to command (not drive) your car , like what is the miximum and minimum speed the car can go in , when to go to the pits and so on. You will wonder why one would use this mode insted of driving, but you will find out that this mode is very important while playing the endurence race. edurence consits of 100 or more laps in a single race which could take hours to finish the race.
Gran turismo 4 is a very good game for the play station 2 and i would reccomend this game as a MUST BUY game for all those car lovers.
