This is my first real experience with the Grand Turismo series, and in short it hasn't been a great one.

I've always shyed away from racing games because after a while they simply tend to get old. After all, all you do is drive around a track again and again. I bought this game because with all the customization and cars to buy I figured it wouldn't get old. However just because it doesn't get old doesnt mean you are going to want to spend a lot of time playing it.

The graphics in this game are great, the controls just fine. The physics couldn't be better whether you are on a tarmac or a gravel road. All the cars have distinct feels to them and they perform accordingly. Its incredibly realistic. For me this game has been kind of hard and very frusterating. Maybe I just suck at the realistic racing games and need a bunch more time to get used to it but so far its been a lot of work and not a lot of fun.

I have burnout legends for my PSP and 5 minutes into it I was hooked and having a blast. 5 minutes into GT4 all I could think was good God how hard is it to take a U turn without going 10 miles an hour.

Maybe thats the problem. Being so used to burnout I want to go fast and hit the throttle all the time. This game has a horrible sense of speed; it may be realistic but it doesn't feel like you are zooming around a track except in the rally races.

If you are into driving sims, this game has got to be amazing. If you are into just having some plain good ol fun with that pick up and play feel, look elseware.
