Gran Turismo 4 is a solid racing game for the PS2.

Gran Turismo 4's graphics are arguably the best in the series. First off the car models look stunning no matter what car it is you're driving. They are all highly detailed and look very close to their real life counter parts. The race tracks are highly detailed and look very real. There are even some of the classic tracks from previous Gran Turismo's with some brand new ones thrown in but all look very nice.

Gran Turismo 4's gameplay is simple and fun. Though the gameplay is repetitive driving a car never losses it fun value. Each car handles and responds differently but there is one thing that the player must pay attention to and that is knowing what type of car they're driving. FR cars will require the player to brake sooner as they approach a turn while FF cars allow the player to brake later into a turn. However players don't get the full experience that an actual race driver gets. Things like G force as well not having to worry whether or not your brakes heat up to much and various other things. But if you want to maximize your gaming experience with this game then I highly recommend that players purchase a steering wheel. The steering wheel makes Gran Turismo 4 even better as it gives players a more immersive experience as opposed to using the controller.

Unfortunately Gran Turismo 4's Ai is a bit of a letdown. The Ai seems to have its own path already carved out from the get go and will rarely try to engage the player in a shoving match to get by them. This lack of aggressiveness means that players can push the other cars out of the way or even use them as guard rails when they need to without having to worry about the Ai coming after them in retribution.

Overall Gran Turismo 4 is a fantastic racing game that is easily recommendable to anyone a fan of racing games or looking to try one.
