This game is the definition of pure driving, but it's not for everyone. It's only for the ones who know how to play it.
'Gran Turismo' Mode starts with an expanded map section with several options to choose from such as your Home, racing events, endurance races, showrooms from several countries, and the 'Gran Turismo World Championship.' As you advance in the mode, you unlock several tracks and vehicles depending on the tasks and races you participate in. The most frustrating part about GT mode is the license tests, which consists of 5 particular licenses you need in order to races in certain events such as the Supercar Challenge, the Clubman Cup, etc. But what pisses me off about the license center is that any time you fail a particular test, it goes on your win-loss record. I was like 'What the hell?! That's wasn't even a race!!" Not only that, but the '1000 miles!' race was nearly frustrating. Four races, but with a lot of laps (depending on the track). It took me several hours to beat the dang thing, but the '300,000' prize was nothing to sneeze at. I really needed the money.
The Arcade mode is just about the same as the last three Gran Turismo games, but you can choose to either race for fun in a single race or practice in a time trial. But, the sad thing is, they don't have online on there, which means the game didn't get a higher rating than Gran Turismo 3. Still, you can't turn down what makes this game a "true phenomenon."
For those of you have already played 'Gran Turismo', you should keep playing this game. Plus, the opening sequence will leave you in tears. And by the way, just 'cause Gran Turismo is rated "E" for everyone doesn't mean it's for EVERYONE. If you think it's easy, try playing it and see what you think. One thing you need to know though: Opinions vary.
