I was out on a limb about getting Gran Turismo 5 for my PS3. Since I am a Forza 3 fan when I had my Xbox 360 before switching to the darkside of PS3 it was a chance buy. I figured what the hell I love sim racers and I needed a break from the very amazing Hot Pursuit. Besides I love racing, but I love tuning and customizing my car. I always got to have the best ride with the best parts while racing my friends online. So I added GT5 to my collection. The game has not disappointed me yet. You need real skill to drive without the assistance of driving aids. The only problem I have is how amazing the game can look at times, but at other times it looks just down right horrible. A main example is the standard cars compared to the amazingly detailed PREMIUM cars. There are a lot of badass cars that should of been made PREMIUM but for some odd reason wasn't. The environments on some circuits are amazing, and photo realistic to the bone while others are not so much. I took a shot of a replay in my 2010 Lancer Evo X GSR driving in the snow with mountains and pine trees dotting the track. It was absolutely amazing. One of my favorite modes is photo mode. I am a photographer in real life and my specialty is automotive photography. So this was an instant like for me. This mode really shows off the graphics on premium models. You can pull of some shots if you know how that will rival real life shots of these cars. Seriously at times you cannot tell them apart from their real life counter parts. Online is fun although I have not played it that much since singleplayer is so immersing. However finding a lobby to start with your friends is kind of confusing at first it does get easier once you learn it. So in short GT5 is very much a game with sometimes steep learning curves. However it is nothing short of amazing. So love it, or hate it.
First off. GT5 guaranteed 1,000+ cars. They never said they would all be full out detailed cars. It would make no sense for them to do that as in actuality I HIGHLY doubt you'll even drive every one of the 200 premium ca... Read Full Review
