After waiting for so long, we finally have this game. But is it really worth getting it?
Graphics: The graphics is remarkable. You can't really complain on how much the developers spent their time polishing the graphics of the premium cars and the tracks/weather. The graphics makes you feel that you are driving in the real track. If you're the kind of guy/gal that likes to take photos, you can take a photo of any premium car on a set of locations. The in-game photo camera is fantastic, you can set the settings of your camera or add some effects to your photo.
Driving: As a simulation, I'd say GT5 captured the real physics of driving. There are some irks here and there but overall you will feel that you are driving in a real car. I highly recommend getting a steering wheel and using that instead of the normal controller.
Online Gameplay: I don't have any issues driving online. I've had more fun driving online in this game than other racing games that I own. Most people that I drive with are pretty professional about their racing line but sometimes you get some people that are pretty careless and will result in both of you crashing. Other than that, the game is fun while playing online and I seriously invite all players to use that feature. And now that they added PP (Performance Points), you'll know that your enemies cars have little to no advantage to your car. In other words, more balance.
Now lets get to the bad parts.
Cars: Seriously, you market a game with 1000 cars and release the game with only 200 premiums cars. I was pretty disappointed when I learned about this. Even the famous Veyron, and the Formula GT (Polyphony) are not premium. I hope that in the future they release a patch/DLC that makes some obvious cars that needs to be premium, premium.
AI: To tell you the truth, this game is not really competitive if you play by your self. All you need to do is get yourself car and you will win. There are no challenge from the AI. To add more challenge, I get the car needed and race. No modifications. I don't even put racing wheels, just the normal wheels that the car comes with.
B-SPEC driver: Speaking of AI, don't get me started about this one. The B-Spec driver is the most retarded AI driver in the world. You don't know how many times I yell "DON'T ****ING BREAK YOU RETARD. He cannot win, even with close supervision, unless you give him an overpowered car. And sometimes even with that, he still loses. The other AI drivers are clearly better than your B-Spec driver.
Leveling: I don't understand why I need to repeat some races over and over again to level; Especially if you are level 30+. Grinding races over and over again (especially endurance races) is no fun at all.
Damage: Well, it's probably more fun if you can wreck your car sooner. I know that the car has damage but you won't really get the effect until the later level. While I'm at this, its probably more fun too if your fuel gauge and wheel status works sooner too. For now those gauges only work in endurance races (A-spec), extreme/endurance races(B-spec).
This game is far from terrible though. All those bad's can be fix in the future patches. If you are a fan of racing, this game is a must.
