Dream of driving a Ferrari or Lamborghini? Go Gran Turismo.

User Rating: 9.5 | Gran Turismo: The Real Driving Simulator PSP
People who have played the Gran Turismo series would have known that GT is the only racing simulation that offer real-time physics and tuning in the game. Consider incorporating this into the tiny, portable PSP, it would seem like impossible. But yet this GT did it. Graphics was not a let down too. Sounds of engine could be differentiated among cars, tyre screeching is so live-like that you could almost smell burning rubber. Sadly, GT doesn't allow any kind of modifications to the cars they have, which mean you have to live with the manufacturers' designs of the cars. GT allows you to alter some minor tweaks like the ride height, brake horsepower (for some cars), the tyre choice, etc. Driving the cars are not as easy as it seems, real-time physics kicks in when you are in a race. For example, when you are drafting behind an opponents car chances are you can overtake him after a while, this is due to the less drag force that your car have to face since most of the drag force is being taken by the car in front of you. Learning to turn is probably the most difficult part of this game, if you don't time your brakes properly, you might be faced with an understeer or oversteer. Trust me, GT is not like other racing games, you won't want to drift or lose control. In GT, very much like real life, it's about "slow in, fast out". You need to learn to control your speed and braking. Even over-braking will cause your car to spin wildly out of control. With over 800 cars to choose from, you are basically spoilt for choice. However, the lack of a career mode hampers this game's progress. After a while you would probably be bored of the gameplay. To liven it up, you can opt to play against up to 3 other racers using wi-fi. It is fun to play against other human players, racing against them, drafting them before overtaking them at the last 100m. Believe me, this game is worth playing and worth enjoying in a party. But before you go, make sure you are well-versed in the control of the game. Just a word of warning, make sure you know when you are driving a REAL car and when you are driving a Ferrari in GT.
