Give some time, I play it without the wii motion plus, Frustratingat first, its what the wii was made for!
The wii has been crying out for a decent tennis game and I think Gran slam is worth the £29.99 in ASDA I paid for it.
Ok so the controls are a bit wierd and after 15 games I hav only won 3. BUT once you start to win and understand the simple control system its easy.
The controls are like this. You don't really aim with the remote, its where and when you hit the ball. Take a forhand shot, hit it early and the ball will travel to the left and across the court, to early and its out and too late and you'll miss it. Hit the ball later on as its nearly past you and the ball will travel right (all be it shallower) and down the line. WEIRD I know but once you know this its quite easy.
Yes its frustrating to start with, and some net play can be frustrating as you should easly win the point only to smash it out, but the overall game play is great.
Graphics for a wii are pretty good , sound ok but overall its a far better tennis game than TopSpin and the Doubles only and kid like Wii Sports.
I am loving it at present, My only gripe is in the carreer mode you can't seem to skip a game without it affecting your record, some of the build up events to the real match naff me off.
Overall a must buy, better a than Virtual Tennis on Wii, I would know as I haven't played it. Better with a wii motion plus, I would know as I love it without the motion plus extra. Perhaps one day.
