Can EA ace the competition with their very first tennis game?

Grand Slam Tennis

GAMEPLAY -- The gameplay for this game is very good. This game takes some getting used to, but overall, it is very fun and can become addicting. The main part of gameplay is made better by the addition of Wii Motion Plus. This allows you to have pin-point accuracy over everyone of your shots. This is a much improved factor over the "timing" accuracy you use without Wii Motion Plus (also in Wii Sports Tennis).

Gameplay -- 8/10

GRAPHICS -- The graphics in Grand Slam Tennis are less than stunning. It almost makes us think that there was almost no effort put into making this title. These cartoony graphics could have easily been made on the Nintendo Gamecube.

Graphics -- 5/10

SOUND -- The sound for this title are okay. There is no music from well known artists; you are stuck with EA's own TECHNO!!!! But seriously, it is the same techno song over and over again. Also, every hit of the racquet sounds the exact same. I'm not going to keep putting down the sound because a great thing about it is that the tennis grunts and screams that you hear in the game were actually recorded during real tennis matches. This means that you will hear Maria Sharapova scream like she is being attacked in a dark alley.

Sound -- 7/10

BUY, RENT, OR LEAVE ALONE? -- Even with the game lacking in sound and visuals, this game becomes increasingly more fun as you get better. The addition of online mode (without friendcodes) is a welcome addition as you will be having even more fun acing a child from half way around the world. If you are a tennis fan, I recommend that you go to your local retail store right now and pick this game up. If you aren't a fan of tennis, I recommend that you rent this game because after you play this game, you will become a tennis fan. I recommend this to everyone: DO NOT LEAVE THIS GAME SITTING ON THE SHELF! Everyone should try this game.

Overall -- 8/10
