Pretty much a graphically enhanced version of the top down theme from the first gta. This time the game emphasizes on gaining respect and doing mission for several gangs. Helping one gang can gain you respect from them while loosing respect from the others. Thus making it hard to even stand near them without being shot at. The gangs that do respect you while fight along side. The atmosphere is really dark and takes place at night unlike the first game. There is still no real sense of a story line and you still recieve your missions through payphone Gangs have there territories and the respective logos on there cars. The Zaibatsu being the mostnotorious game, the looneyz being a gang of nut cases,and even a redkneck gang. The gameplay is still similar with killing sprees hear and there, running over people etc. This is however just another sepping stone for the Gta games to come.
