Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars brings a fresh new start on a Nintendo Handheld Console.
They were:
Grand Theft Auto
Grand Theft Auto II
Grand Theft Auto III
I didn't play Liberty City Stories, Vice City Stories or Grand Theft Auto IV but now it's time for me to get back into the series again.
Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars Starts you off playing a thug named Huang Lee who's on a mission to find a Sword called Yu Jian that belonged to his Father he'd won in a poker game back Home in Kowloon in China but then later he was murdered and Yu Jian was stolen.
Haung arrives in Liberty City and works with his Uncle Kenny Lee along with other people like the undercover Police Detective Wade Heston, the Triad Boss Hsin Joaming and the fat motorcyclist Lester Leroc to help him find the stolen Sword.
The Game itself is very impressive and the map size of Liberty City is very recognizable to the one in Grand Theft Auto IV but the only problem in this game is that you can't take the train because hen you go to a tube station, you can't enter which I find annoying.
It's always important these days to get around a big city by tube because it's quicker but unfortunately, you can't you have to drive around Liberty City which is pain.
The stylus control in the game is very unique when you make Molotov Cocktails at Petrol Stations (Gas Stations for you Yanks) and tattoos.
Other Excellent features with the stylus are:
Starting the engine of a car without raising the car alarm
Building a Sniper Rifle
Fetching items from Rubbish dumps such as weapons, drug stashes, fresh food or money but avoid moldy food because it can damage your health.
To search the items, just open the lid of the rubbish dump and take out the rubbish bags and soon enough you will find an item.
The Red Rubbish dumps have weapons and the Green Rubbish Dumps have fresh food, rotten food, money or drug stashes but sometimes you will find junk such as fish heads, how dirty is that!
When you approach a toll post, a CCTV camera will watch you approach the post and you will have to pay $5 to pass throught with one single tap from your stylus at the coin slot on the touch screen. Once you paid the toll, you may pass though to cross the bridge but if you don't pay the toll and pass through the toll, the CCTV camera alerts you and informs the Police to come and get you.
When your wanted level is on and 2 stars and 2 police cars show up on the top left of your screen you have to ram in to the police cars until a red cross appears so your wanted level will decreases.
On the bottom screen, there's you GPS and other icons such as your breifing messages and email so during the game you can access your email plus the last icon is to show you your status of gameplay.
The best thing I like about in Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars is when you look at your GPS, you have 3 boxes to select and you can select a route for your next upcoming missions and icons such as safehouses you bought, sparyhouses to paint spray your car and others etc. by tapping them on the touchscreen.
I think that Rockstar Games have done a brilliant job bringing this new Grand Theft Auto Game to a new level onto the Nintendo DS perfectly.
This is the first Nintendo DS game in the UK to be given a 18 rating certificate by the BBFC because of the strong use of foul language, drug use, and violence and sexual references in the game itself so no one under the age of 18 should play it.
