GTA: Chinatown Wars summed up!

User Rating: 9 | Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars DS
Upon picking up Grand theft auto: Chinatown Wars, i was nothing short of sceptical and filled with what may have been an onslaught of dissapointment when compared to other games of the GTA series.
Being on the DS this game had quite abit to live up to in my opinion being that it was fighting for a place against consoles of past and present that we are all well aware of!
To my surprise though it did just that! not only is it a joyful little romp through the old back streets of liberty city but also somewhat rewarding in little ways. The ways i speak of are obviously frowned upon in the public eye but pulling off a drug deal and making thousands of dollars or stealing your first car by hot wiring, screwdriver or a high tech gadget or even having a little minigame to make your own molatovs has its charms, the sub missions are nothing short of manic in some cases but highly enjoyable!
Graphically the game has surpassed the very early instalments of GTA (by that i mean the 1st and 2nd) but i suppose in todays modern gaming society that was only to be expected.
The storyline i would say is a typical GTA storyline which is exactly what i was looking for and is very well inter-linked with the DS itself, having to use the stylus for certain objectives but then using the D-pad and buttons to get around was nothing short of genius (as simple as it is) in making the game accesible and fun for all.
Overall i think it is a good buy for anyone looking to entertain themselves in the short or long term and a must for any GTA fans out there.
