The GTA series is one of the best series ive ever played GTA3 just makes it even better. Its so addicting and as soon as u steal a car for the first time you never want to put down the contoller again. Its that good, you play some nameless character that is highred to do diffrent missions for diffrent ppl in order to gain respect ,money ,and power. But to get to the top of your game you need to kill alot of people and die alot of times. Many of the missions basically send u on Hitman type thing your given a little detail about what your supossed to do and the map marks the spot to where your supossed to be. One thing that constantly got on my nerves though was the targeting syetem. You hold R1 to select a random target basically its the one standing closest to you but it is very annoying and can mess you up instantly. For instance if your trying to kill a specific person that your orderd to kill and you try to lock on him with R1 and u accidentally lock onto a nearby pedestrian....your screwed bascially because if u end up blasting the innocent person theres a good chance a cop is going to come after you. Other than that this game tells a fairly good story and youll have alot of fun just playing around not even doing the missions. I spent more time playing around the city killing innocent people and highjacking cars more than anything. If anyone is looking for a game that gives you more freedom than you can handle than this is it my friend.
