This review is just a list of things wrong with the, overall, great game.
First off the story isn't very...how you say...good. The plot is revenge on an old comrade who betrayed the protagonist and his friends. The characters, beside Niko and Roman, are forgettable. The missions which advance the story mostly only serve as reasons to kill a stronghold of baddies. The mission types arn't as varied as they once were either. At least it feels that way because I've been playing this franchise for years now. There is no somebody else drive and you shoot missions. None. Disappointing but not that bad. Once the novelty of playing GTA on a, what was once next gen, system wears off I found my self just wanting to hurry and finish the game. You aren't going to care about any of these characters besides maybe your cousin and the ending was very disappointing as well. The story is really just there because it's a requirement. They're not trying to get you hooked and want to keep playing to see what happens next. They want you get hooked to killing people and banging chicks. Though it should be noted, no hot coffee here.
With all that being said it's a good action adventure game. The city is big. There's lot of things to do. The world is more fleshed out than previous installments. So...get the game.
