By the heavens,Rockstar said: "let there be patches" and there was. Now we have a proper GTA port, yay!
In GTA IV you play as Niko Bellic. An immigrant who is visiting his cousin,Roman,to enjoy the rich life and forget about his past. Unfortunately things don't go well. He finds out that all Roman's stories about being rich and happy turned out to be false. To avoid spoiling anything,I will stop here.
The story is alot more dark and serious than those of previous GTA's and its pretty good. The game also changed from wacky to realistic this time around. Fortunately, the realism doesn't have much of a negative effect on the game.
The game looks beautiful and while it still restricts you to play it with everything on "high",it still looks (and actually works) great on medium. The mouse and keyboard combination also works well (sometimes better than the controller).
The game is also a blast to play (obviously). The cars handle realistically now and you have a good cover system, too. The cars also get damaged realistically, you can even fly out of the windshield when you hit a wall head on! While there might not be a minigun this time around, the guns you actually get to use are powerful and sound good too. The game basically plays like a GTA game should.
Nothing is perfect though. There isn't enough guns in the game and definitely not enough side missions to keep you busy after the main storyline,so expect to get bored quick when you finish the game.
GTA IV is a great game and definitely worth the money, well,as long as your able to get the patches it is. Also I'd like to thank Rockstar for taking time and fixing the game.
