The First Must-Have Game For Every PSP Owner

User Rating: 9.7 | Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories (Greatest Hits) PSP
Today I picked up Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories. I will start off by saying that I am in no ways a hardcore GTA fan, however I do enjoy the games. This game however, managed to keep my interest a lot longer than the console versions did. But I have played all of the console ps2 versions of GTA, and the PC/PSOne versions, so I picked up on some of the smart things that they did throughout the games. Swimming isn't an option in this game, although I really doubt it'll cause as much frustration as it would seem, not being able to swim has rarely got in my way, and even when it does, the game is too great to care. While you play, you'll just be thinking "Wow... So they actually can make a ps2 equivelent (or better, if you include the really fun multiplayer) Grand Theft Auto.
The graphics in my honest opinion appear to look cleaner than the ps2's Grand Theft Auto 3, the lines appear to look more smooth, facial detail appears to be really intricate, and I'm pretty sure I can see fingers seperated when the camera is close in, though usually I'm too busy playing this amazing game to look for too long. Textures are about par with what I've seen in grand theft auto for ps2, but once again, it looks like everything is more clean cut. Though the superiority of Grand Theft Auto in widescreen was unapparent to me, because I played all Grand Theft Auto games on my widescreen HDTV.
The sound is pretty good, I think that you should use headphones if you play, the psp's built in speakers don't seem to do the game justice (although they are more than playable)
I've already played 3 player multiplayer, and it is fun. Guns are everywhere, there are powerups, and everything. I realized just how great multiplayer was when my friend came way down the road on a bike, and I sat at the far end of the road, out of sight, and took my first shot, blew his head clear off.
I really enjoy this game, and I think that you should definitely pick it up, I really doubt you'll be disappointed.
