I waited a long time for this game to come out, and when it did i cant say i was amazed by it. when i saw there was a gta game coming to psp i couldnt wait but when it finally come out i was slightly disapointed. the graphics arent bad for a psp game and for saying the gta graphics arent always amazing i was impressed by that, i was also impressed by how they crammed the whole of liberty city on to a umd without any major problems. But after a while of playing it you really start to notice some problems. A problem i found was the framerate on the game, when your driving fast things seem to slow down a bit and the same thing happens when a lot of things happen on screen, this may sound like a minor problem but after a while it starts to get tedious. At first i thought that for a psp game the story in liberty city stories was good and i did think having characters from past games was good like gta games usually have, like avery carrington and donald love, but after a while you notice that the story goes knowhere, the part where tony gets made was extremely disapointing, i thought it would be some major point in the game, but it was a little cutscene with tony in an alleyway meeting salvatore, but thats not the only problem, it really doesnt seem like your going anywhere in the game, and the length of the missions is appalling, they dont last long at all and there not very interesting anyway, not every mission is bad there are the odd enjoyable few like blowing up buildings but there isnt many of them to be honest. I feel like they took a lot of things out of the game that you would normally expect from a gta game, there was no planes, no helicopters, there wasnt even an ability to crouch, it almost seems like an un-finished game that had been rushed towards the end. The worst thing about liberty city stories in my opinion is the ending mission. In all of the gta series the last mission has been brilliant and very challenging but with liberty city stories i literally just walked through it, i really dont think it was worth playing through the game for such an easy mission, honestly i found some of the missions through the game harder than the last one, so i was really annoyed by that. I was disapointed by liberty city stories, i think it had the potential to be a brilliant game but didnt quite get there, there are some good points in the game but they are somewhat over looked by the bad ones, maybe it was because it was on a portable console and i'm expecting too much but i dont think psp games should be let of for being bad just by sayin 'well for psp it was good' because i really dont think it was. Overall i'd say if you really need to play a gta game then buy liberty city stories when the price has dropped or rent it because you could be very disapointed with what you've spent your money on.
