Grand Theft Auto-Liberty City Stories is the first GTA game on the Playstation Portable. It is based in Liberty City, a fictional New York, in 1998. The game, I must warn you all, is not for children. It contains violence, blah blah blah, you get the picture. Enough of that. This game is a prequel of Grand Theft Auto 3, which was set 3 years later, in 2001. You play as Toni Cipriani, a mafia man who just came back from hiding after killing a made man. You do missions to earn money as usual. Salvatore Leone is in the game, and he is your boss. You do many missions for him. The missions in this game, I thought, were good but could have been a lot better. All you do is drive, drive, drive. It lacks complexity. And that is why i gave the gameplay an 8/10. I hope in Vice City Stories, the upcoming PSP title, it is a lot better. Anyway, the graphics were very good but i think could have been improved just a teeny bit. In VCS, i heard that the graphics will make lcs look like first-gen. The soundtrack of lcs I was not a big fan of. It lacked a hit that i recognized, and was mainly pop, although i reccomend the public radio station. The value of this game, though, is just great. They were able to put GTA on a portable system, while preserving many things. The learning curve of this game may take a while to adjust to the psp controls. Anyway, to recap this review, i thought it was a great portable game. But it, play it, enjoy it, and wait for VCS.
