First, I'd just like to say that this game, compared with the others, improves on the overall gameplay so much it makes you want to keep on playing it even after it's over. If you've played the game before a lot of the controls and how you play through it will come very familiar to you. There are many things you can do aside from completing missions to progress through the storyline. You can head to the gym to get buff, get a sleek haircut, some new threads, and pretty much anything you can do in the real world. For people who haven't played the game before it may be a little harder in the beginning. But after the first hour or so you'll be eager to steal a car, shoot down some ballas or even kick it back and watch the many things that will come to happen in the backround. The graphics are a little jumpy from time to time and sometimes you'll find yourself squinting in the darkness at dusk or at the glare of the sun at dawn. But they are still very nicely done and very much suited for this type of game. The overall area of San Andreas is so large it may take you hours just to cover all of it. It's area is, for the most part, split into three cities. Los Santos the city you start out in, San Fierro, a knock off of San Francisco, and Las Venturas, a city based on glamorous Las Vegas. But let's not forget the cars. For some people it's one of hte sole reasons why they bought this game. For others, merely something that gets you from point A to point B. Either way they're there, and they're plentiful. There are around 250 vehicles total ranging from cars, motorcycles, bikes, planes, helicopters, and even remote control vehicles. Your house has a garage that can hold and keep the cars you steal so that you eon't have to go out looking for that Ferrari again....er I mean Cheetah. The sounds are brilliantly done. Not just the sound effects of a car exploding or the hilarious dialogue you'll hear throughout the game but the radio stations you can tune through while driving a car. Compared to Vice City, there is a wide gap between the depth of gameplay and the engineering of everything else. If you have a PS2 and you're looking for a game to buy, consider GTA: SA your number one choice.
