GTA V: Best of the Grand Theft Auto Series
In GTA V, Rockstar pulled back from being always serious and gritty as its predecessor was and made a Grand Theft Auto game that was fun and funny to play once again, while balancing silly and somber moments throughout the story. Along with the story mode, GTA V offers you an open world jam packed with plenty of things to do as well as places to explore. You can cruise or speed around Los Santos in your whip, go to the shooting range, hunt wild game, swim with sharks, work on your flying skills, buy property, customize characters/vehicles, cause outright mayhem and more.
While I usually agree with Gamespots score when it comes to video games, this time I don't. The offensive, juvenile and hurtful personal attacks on Carolyn Petit for giving GTA V a 9/10 score were wrong and unjustified. However, we still have a right to respectfully disagree with her score and provide constructive criticism. My rating for GTA V is a solid 10 score, which should have been Gamespots as well; GS set the bar at 10 when GTA IV got a 10/10 score when it came out in 2008. Since GTA V is superior to its predecessor in every way, it's no surprise that giving it a lower score than GTA IV would cause such a backlash from the gaming community.
Enjoy your trip to Los Santos; have a good time, get some sun, make a ton of money and try not to get wasted too many times. One last piece of advice, there will come a time near the end of the story mode where you'll have to pick between "A, B or C" go with option "C" or you'll be kicking yourself afterwards and choice "C" is a lot more satisfying.
