The Good, The Bad and The Great. (Single Player Review)

User Rating: 10 | Grand Theft Auto V PS3
I'd like to start off by saying I am a long time GTA fan, I have played every one of them and have thoroughly enjoyed them all. I'm going to compare this game to the last GTA in the review which is hardly fair because it truly was a masterpiece, I expected more of the same in terms of length but I haven't found that in the story at least, I beat the game in about 20-30 hours, I didn't do much else though so after completing it I'm left with alot of other things to do such as triathlons, races, diving, golf, extreme sports and tennis which are all great in their own right.

The story itself was interesting but they really missed the mark in terms of what I find acceptable, I grew to hate the lead character Micheal and I was absolutely livid with the fact that nobody paid me for any mission I had done. You're made rely on money you made early in the game to see you through to the end where you get a massive pay out, so to recap your broke from the start and you never make enough money from the main missions and at the end your too rich. They really broke that aspect and I lost respect for the characters for constantly working for nothing.

The radio is also a let down on GTA 4, it's a personal opinion but I feel it needs to be said. I really can't say much about it because it's each to their own they have some great songs which I'm happy with, they put in some hip hop legends and famous songs which is new to the franchise. You'll hear Britney Spears, Kelly Roland, Easy E, Doctor Dre, 2 Pac and many more.

Next I'll talk about customization, clothes, hair cuts, car mods, masks and tattoos. They really put alot into this game and it shows, there are many many ways to make your experience and characters unique. If you look at another mans GTA screen shots you'll feel your looking into another characters life and not your own. I feel these will add alot to the multiplayer which has the potential to be epic.

The world itself as the title suggests is absolutely beautiful, I cannot state that enough, the world itself justifies this game receiving a 10 and I would have given it a lower score had it not. It really became apparent when I finished the game and started to explore the lands and eventually ended up in the sea which to my surprise is beautiful, coral reefs, ship wrecks, fish, sharks and hidden stashes. It really showed me how much effort was put into this game.

I'll finish with the justification for my score, I really considered giving this game an 8.5. I feel they messed up the story line and the financial side of the game but even though that happened theres so much put into this game it really deserves a 10 because it pushed gaming so far ahead of previous titles. It's world could be considered an artwork and it's inhabitants comedians of a fine quality, every person you punch (which looks great by the way) has a story and doesn't mind telling it. All in all if you haven't got this game then get it and marvel at the wonders in it.
