From the moment you are in the game, you are in awe of the superb voice acting and extreme attention to detail with the map design, animations coming from the characters, and Trevor... Oh boy, Trevor is my anti-hero hero. Spewing his thoughts without a filter, unravels the majestic aura of his comfort in his sexuality to a level that we can never come to expect. The emotion that comes over me accurately protrays the protagonist and antagonist perfectly. The infamous torture scene did not bother me too much as to what most reviewers conveyed. They are a bunch of pussy's, its a game. People T-Bag and blow heads off all the time, but a shock on the tits is a little overwhelming? Come on now.
"Massage My Leg!"
Missions in the single player campaign felt non-redundant. Which is absolutely spectacular. Never have I once felt, "Oh no not this, just let me get to the end." It was all extremely diverse and thrilling. The amount of various activities that I can do is extremely well done, I actually like playing golf and tennis sometimes more then the game itself. If they really engulf with this, they can really have all other sports games run for their money.
The various weapons and vehicles are a wide variety and customize to NEARLY everything you can come to expect. I often contemplate on how I should accomplish a mission, or own a newbie in multi-player by showing my new gadgetry. The con to this end however, I often find myself coming to expect that they will have a customization to this is actually unavailable. For instance, like lifting a jeep and adding the upgrades that we are all familiar with what a jeep should have, is not available. Understandably they have expansions to come, but this is the now.
Why is it a 8 instead of a 10? Multiplayer, A.I., customization, and lack of content is what I must put. Through all the advertisements, I come to expect a level of...what is the word...standards to be met. When they described of all you can do, you start letting your mind wander of what you CAN actually do. and when you figure out you cannot do those, your attitude starts to fall dramatically. Cop AI gets me angry on occasion, because when I run away, they circle around me player, even though the computer technically knows where I am. And when they do know, it gets overwhelming as they never seem to let you go... unless you know the "loop holes" of getting away from them. I expected the AI to be almost human, and thought it would be really cool to combat them. But the pictures of terminator and GTAV AI is very similar. You could be in the middle of nowhere and punch someone to death, and for some reason the cops will be after you and close in >30 seconds.
Customization is disappointing. For example, a El Camino look-alike is in the game, and of all the customization options that I know in RL, I thought they would have all that covered. Unfortunately, they dont have anything available. Hate to pull in another game, but Saints Row III, had a unbelievable amount of detail to customize your vehicle. I thought that GTAV could easily beat that, but unfortunately, I did not see that. The "obtain of a apartment/house" is practically useless, cannot customize anything inside the house, everything comes pre-furnished. Thought I could of seen my weapons on the wall, or achievements or a wall of tickets or something, nothing.
Multiplayer is possibly the greatest disappointment of all. It takes forever to load a multiplayer game, it would of been much better just to make it real-time blending.. Like moving to location and immediately get immersed in it. Instead have to wait up to 10 min just for a match to start that may last >2min. And only heists you can do without match making is the local shops. Honestly I thought initially a wide variety of shops/banks could be heisted at any moment... Not really. The prices for things is astronomical. Thought maybe ranked matches for tennis tournaments or races would be possible, so many possibilities but they did not hold it in high regard.
Honestly, I know I have high expectations. However, when you advertise for me to have high expectations, then expect for me to be disappointed. Make the multi-player better and then I will be willing to raise the bar for you.
