This game definitely shows you the capacity of the PSP.
There’s a bunch of new things to enjoy in GTA: VCS. I’ll mention some of them: get a bicycle, swim, ride a helicopter (or chopper). Those were some of them, not all. Well, let’s start with the review. You start as a soldier named Victor Vance, who is looking for money because of his sick brother. And when he finally gets a job (being a soldier), his sergeant betrays him. And Vic is trapped in Vice City. One of your main objectives in the game is to clear all the story-based missions. Story-based missions consist on following the story. And there are a lot of missions to clear, and this time, the missions are longer and they’re very difficult.
But as I mentioned before, this is a free-roaming game, so you do what you want to do. This is a typical GTA: While not on a mission, you can steal cars, bikes, choppers, you can kill pedestrians by using a large variety of weapons (for example, chainsaws, bombs, guns, hammers, or simply your punch), you can also kill pedestrians by using your car, and… and… there are lot of things to do while your not on a mission. Oh and one of the new mode added in this game is Empire mode. You can run your own business and do some missions. But those who are expecting something big, this isn’t interesting that I thought.
But, there are a lot of things to do like side-missions, hidden packages (this time you have to find 99 hidden red balloons), jobs, and racings. So you’ll play this game months and months. Well, that was all the good thing I could say from GTA: VCS. Now let’s go to the worst part of this game. Graphics are just “normal”. Nothing impressive or great it’s just as normal as the other GTAs. But there are some annoying bugs I found in this game. For example, when you’re on a car and you drive extremely fast, the screen starts to move like Need For Speed. Well, that’s not annoying, but that means that the map loading time is pretty slow. And that’s one of the problems that GTA has.
Graphics in general, I mean the character designs, environments, landscapes are now better (this, compared with GTA: LCS). Specially, character designs are impressive. They’re pretty well-designed. Sound is just great. Now the radio stations have some good songs and you’ll really like them. There are a lot of good songs in GTA: VCS. And like GTA: LCS, you can listen your own MP3 format songs in the game. Sound effects are same as always; they’re good as always, for example the hit effects, when you crash your car with another, when you harm a pedestrian, or when you swim.
And voice acting is great too. Every character has their own style of speaking (like Lance Vance). Now, this game looks like a PS2 version, but it isn’t. This is a PSP version, and when you play this game, you’ll be pretty astonished by what is PSP capable of. Every little bit of the game is awesome (well, some bugs are annoying me but, who cares about the bugs?) This game is a long game. At least if you like action games. This game lasts at least 2 months, and I really recommend it for those people who’re on a road trip or plane trip.
