Has some of the "rushed" feeling to it but not enough to call it a bad game in any way.
The gameplay is just what you would expect from the GTA series; kill people steal car, do missions and make money. However, in this installment there is a completely new gameplay mechanic; business management. As you are the boss of the business, you are responsible for things such as what type of business, its size and repairs. Though it is fairly simple, this new mechanic does add on some time for learning curve to understand what the advantages of building a larger scale business for example. This mission design is a little bit more in-depth than in Liberty City Stories.
The graphics werent impressive, but they did the job. The actual city looked better when it was on the horizon, if you were flying a helicopter, for example, across the channel separating both sides of Vice City. Up close everything was just okay. But there was one major problem that often became very frustrating to deal with, and that was your businesses. If you approached them from driving in a car too quickly they would not be loaded and hence you could not go inside. Sometimes you had to wait a whole minute or run out of sight then go and look again.
I was slightly less impressed with the music in this installment as i think a lot of it wusnt liscened, though i did recognize the Phil Collin's stuff. The sound effects were just as good, and the voice acting actually kind of stood out as being really well done here...during the cutscenes anyways. In gameplay some of the voices seemed to be overacting based on what their character was doing, and it did feel really off at some points. With the online modes and the 18 hours or so (i messed around a lot and captured every business so it took me 20) it will take to complete it, this game is definitely worth a purchase.
