Vice City is a considerable improvement over GTA 3, giving you more options and things to do. The protagonist, Tommy Vercetti, meets most challenges with a cheery insult, wondering how he ever got into such a situation. The added features include the ability to leap from a moving vehicle, which can mean the difference between failing and succeeding a mission. New vehicle types, the motorcycle and helicopter, open up whole new areas, like the numerous low roofs on the second island. Other than the buildings and businesses you acquire, it is quite possible to finish the game without spending a single dollar of your ill-gotten cash. The choice of 80s music is excellent, and includes a number of specially written tracks. The only downer is that for the amount of water on the map, Tommy cannot swim.
