Amazing game! How can everyone keep calling it cliche when it's no worse than almost any other RPG out there?
There's very little for me not to love about this incredible game. The graphics are, simply put, incredible. The battle system is, in my opinion, the best and most exciting one that's been thought of within the RPG genre yet. The dialogue is quite interesting and I'm especially fond of those times where the party would gather around the dinner table and have long chats that you'd guide them through. Then, there's the storyline...I loved it - big surprise eh? But I honestly cannot help but shake my head every time I see yet another "Great game, cliche story" review! Sure, it's not completely unique. It follows a very typical RPG structure that we all know, and more importantly, love. Somehow that seems to not apply so much with Grandia 3? Bleh, I'll never understand it. Really, when I did finish this fairly lengthy game (it was a good 50-55 hours for me...you don't need more than that when the game is as consistently good as this one was) I was felt with something like a feeling of awe and like something clicked in my head and told me, "This is why you love these types of games". Oh, and can't forget that cards mini-game...feck, that was addictive.
Also, I've heard many Grandia fans say that 3 didn't really even compare to 2. While I can't agree or disagree since this is the only Grandia I've been fortunate enough to play, I still think it's quite sad that any game out there could lead you to believe that since it's not as good as the last part, it's not really good at all.
