The only aspect worth mentioning about Grandia III is the gameplay, and that in itself is worth the price of admission.
- Tried and true Grandia gameplay.
- Pulling off attack combos with multiple characters is extremely satisfying.
Cons:
- Plot-holes galore!
- Miranda and Alonso left the game way before the story picked up.
- Yuki and Alfina are two of the more stereotypical teen characters in video games.
- Very few opportunities to backtrack to look for stronger weapons.
- Certain Mana Eggs are few and far between, which can lead to countless trials and errors in Mana Egg Fusion.
- Very disappointing exploration mode (i.e. not enough places to land your plane and explore).
Verdict:
While it seems that there are a lot of bad things about Grandia III, what makes this game fun is really all about the Grandia-style battles. It never gets old or tiring to fight monsters, even fighting them hundreds or even thousands of times.
