Kick ass rabbits and dancing sheeps next to FF series ....

User Rating: 8.6 | Grandia III PS2
It revolves around a young man who likes flying (ALOT).Has a mother that doesn't looks like a mother. Saved a girl (you know who) from a bunch of tugs and eventually they falls in love (typical).

It is a short game with alot of cutscenes and very long ones too. But it is also a game that I would not mind playing again IF I have the time. And it is also the ONE game so far that actually made me cried in the end. (There are alot of scenes that you can cry in this game)

The battles:
Its my first time playing the timer battle system of grandia. Is kind of useful at times but also slow.(I'm not an item person). The thing I don't like about it is, one NORMAL monster battle feels like FOREVER. One battle can consist of 1-8(or more, I don't know how many) monsters to beat. And some of them likes to re-spawn oh ever so often (Bloody snakes). It kinds of test your patience alot. And to top it all off, If your not careful, you die fast in a NORMAL monster battle. (I died killed by a lizard poor Xorn he must be crying.)

Music:
I love the opening song (I kept repeating the same song for the past 5 days now haha). Some of you might not like it because I realised its ALMOST a direct translated lyrics from the japanese version of the song. I don't know maybe they wrote both versions together. The background song is great. Really builds up the intensity of a fight or when your walking in a town.

Graphics:
Though is not as detailed as Final Fantasy series, it does have its good qualities. The sceneries is the best. The details and the lights of the sun and the lakes really looks good. Its the first game I played so far that has put up so much work on sceneries. One of the downside I'm quite dissapointed is that they do not change the movements of the characters mouth when they translate into english version. It destroys the characters 3D movement.

Controls:
(My left analog stick is wacko). I like the right analog stick. Helps you to get an overview of your surroundings. What I don't like is that they do not have a 360 degree view of your surroundings. I felt sad since its about SKIES and PLANES but you can't see UP! There are times when you fight bosses (those big fellows with big bodies) you can't change your view to see your characters condition because you have to wait for the characters timer to reached.

So how was it?
If your a RPG gamer, get it. I had fun and after all my examinations is over, I think I'll play it again. It seriously is quite challenging but also a walk in the park at times but this game is good. So I recommend this to whoever who loves games and likes a good story.
