As mad as a Bobsleigh
In 'Gregory Horror Show' your character is trapped in a Hotel from Hell.,where all the residents are insane and in the mood for blood...mainly yours. To progress through the game you must help the other 'guests' to realise why they're trapped there, which releases their trapped souls and helps you to find the key to your escape.
The game is run on two levels, Firstly, a simple 24 hour clock and the second a madness meter. You must discover what the residents need by collecting clues and spying on them at a specific time before you're driven dribblingly mad by the weirdness you see about you in the Hotel.
Nice touches like interesting characters, slightly disturbing images [ a cartoon cat with sewn up eyes???] and a spooky atmosphere is completely let down by frustrating puzzles.
Mostly puzzles are solved by luck and being in the right place at the right time.Hours can be wasted wandering the corridors with little or no clue as to what you should be doing.. After a while you'll realise that it's about as much fun as shutting your fingers in a car door on a freezing cold day.
I love the odd bit of oddness, but this misses the mark.
