It's The Tex-Files!

So, basically, this town in Texas is overrun with Aliens (they couldn't afford a decent make-up artist so we'll just pretend the human actors are doing a good job pretending to be an extraterresterial) and thus the military installs remote-controlled cameras in various locations, that fire, quite possibly, the cheesiest sound effect in history.

And, as a result, the horrible sound effect will make the aliens fall to the ground (well, it's not like we can otherwise tell we shot them-at least, they don't go to the trouble to add blood, or even a hole in their clothing)

When switching between the cameras, you put up a shield to protect the camera from your armed adversaries.

Holes will eventually appear in the shield over time, and once it has damaged the camera, creative video defects will occur, such as the picture slowly losing color.
It becomes progressively worse until the camera goes offline, and, after time, will be repaired.

When you compare it to other FMV-based first-person-shooters, it's not that bad.
Unlike "Who Shot Johnny Rock?", you won't become frustrated with unfairly missing shots that were obviously successful.
