Immersive Goodness!

I played the initial Guild Wars for over 6 years so I may be a little biased. Regardless, Guild Wars 2 is a beautiful game...nay a gorgeous work of art. If you have the gaming rig to run the show at high settings you will be visually pleased with so many incredible sights. However, on lower settings the game still holds its own. The action is fast, there are numerous things to do. No no "numerous" is the wrong word here. Maybe I should have said there are more things to do than you can possibly achieve in an hour or two. For example, I spent about 45 minutes just dying my armor. Then of course there are quests, events, exploring, gathering, socializing, and of course buying and selling. This may not sound revolutionary, but the package that these hallmarks come in is so beautiful and refined that the old standards become fresh again. The story is fun. Granted, at present I've only cleared about six maps, but the personal story attached is good enough to keep driving you forward and of course there are throwbacks to the original so vets feel like they're immediately home. In addition, every map comes with events which are linked to npc stories of their own. Every map that you explore is alive with things happening and npcs chatting it up. I like to keep my little reviews short and sweet so I'll end it here...and well it's lunchtime and my stomach takes precedence. Happy gaming!
