Whether it's the ability to unlock amazing titles on your character, or just gameplay itself, GW manages to amaze.
Guild Wars is an incredibly fun massively multiplayer online RPG, it delivers in every good way possible. Not only is there hundreds of things to do, such as title maxing, buying new armor sets, and simply completing the storyline, but this game adds an edge that barely any MMO manages to live up to. There's always something introduced to players, new and fresh.
The storyline in Guild Wars is nothing short of interesting. Although it isn't a very in-depth story such as BioShock, it still manages to deliver one where you don't feel the need to skip the cutscenes after every mission. The story flows smoothly throughout each game in the Guild Wars series.
Although that's the case, its still a very often used plot - a big bad boss is trying to take over the world and you have to stop him. GW manages to tell the story though, where you will grow enticed with it if you're interested into understanding the story rather than just how you chop people to bits in a game.
The combat system in that of WoW - you have a skills bar displayed, which, when clicking on, you can activate the skills/ spells. You can also, of course, just attack normally too, where you click on an enemy to assault. It doesn't sound all that interesting, but skill bars make up the biggest part of how successful you are: It's the very blood of the game. With a weak skill bar, you're, in a word, screwed. In each combat zone you can fight in, there's always new "builds"(nickname for skillbar) to use, and many skills to choose from, and the combos you create keep the action fast moving and fun.
The game mechanics - running, mapping, etc - are very basic and easy to use, so it's no trouble starting new on Guild Wars. Also, the beginning of the game helps you get used to it by offering tutorials. The map on the top right of your screen is very nicely laid out too, and it's easy to navigate around enemies if you wish not to be spotted, by the help of the map.
Guild Wars, on top of excellent gameplay, brings something else to it, making the game so addicting it's crazy, really. Titles. The ability to gain, work on, and max titles. Whether with friend or alone, titles are always extremely fun to go for. Some are very hard to achieve, but it wouldn't be a title if it was easy. Once you gain titles, you can display them, so everyone sees them when they scroll over your name. The title system is probably the most exciting thing about GW, or any MMO for that matter.
Missions are a great experience in Guild Wars, you can party up with friends, and heroes, who are unlockable NPCs that you can make strong and create builds for, all by yourself. It's your choice whether to pair up with people, or tackle a mission/ explorable area on your own. And when you do beat all the campaign missions, a new option unlocks: Hard Mode. Hard mode is pretty much the normal game, just raised to a much harder difficulty, which gives a nice challenge to experienced players. I Myself have logged about 812 hours on this game. There's always new things to do, and new places, items, and builds to explore. Guild Wars is one of the most amazing MMOs on store shelves, due to outstanding gameplay, combined with new, fresh add-ons.
I recommend this game to everyone, it's so fantastic, and addictive, that you will never turn your back on it. Or, if you do.... give it a couple of months.... it'll pull you back in.
