Whats worse? Playing this game or shaving your eyebrows. I choose this game.
The gameplay is completely original, it combines a small portion of reality with a large helping of unreailty. causing this to be the perfect mix for a GBA fighter. Its reminiscent of the other GGs, just really tiny. The fighting isnt hard, mainly because I-no isnt there to cheat everytime YOU FIGHT AGAINST HER! Sorry, a little rage there, but Im ok. Once you get a hold of a characters moves that suit your needs, you can start to win instantly in all the modes. Except for maybe survival. Although as I write this my GBA is on and Im in survival with Potemkin at level 250 something. On hard mode. The fighting will last more than 30 seconds for most parts. Unlike OTHER fighting games. ::cough:: Capcom ::cough::
The graphics are crisp and very good use of the GBAs processor. The character design is fluent and the level design could use just a little sprucing up, a few background movements. Other than the characters fighting, the entire game is dead. The violent effects (blood, explosions) are well designed, sorta.
The sound is... umm... well its there; what very little there is. You have music in the background constantly that is something other than rock. The sword slashes and hits are like the console versions.
Im pretty sure this game will last me for a while. Or at least until I get mad at GGX2 on my Xbox and stop playing it, again.
This is one of those games that those who appreciate good games will love. Those who have their heads up their butts will never see what this game is truly about: the fighting. Like I said, the fighting wont last 3 seconds which is what I love. Im not a very big fan of fighting games. I dont like'em. But GGX is definitely the exception to that.
