The Guilty Gear series began in 1998 with a game called like that "Guilty Gear", it was released in Japan and Europe, but never touched American coasts. Then Sammy brought Guilty Gear X in 2001, giving the gamers a new twist to the 2D fighting games. Great graphics (matching an anime), cool moves and crazy characters. Then in 2003 Guilty Gear X2 came, blowing up all 2D games this far. The same awesome graphics, nice music and new characters; you can choose from a vapire-like dude to a "dressed in red" witch with an electric guitar. The gameplay is fast and furious and it never gets slow downs. If you have a progressive scan compatible TV, you're gonna be really happy, cuz the great graphics look even great. Great rock soundtrack is present too, some sticky songs like Fu-u-ga and Still in the Darkness are great piece of music work. So if you're looking for the best 2D fighting game around go for GGX2 or wait until Guilty Gear Isuka comes out. Peace.
