review for Guitar Hero 5

As I was opening the case 1 week ago, I was thinking to myself "after 5 games, how can Guitar Hero 5 be any different from the others?". Well to my surprise, Guitar Hero 5 released September 1, 2009 by Activision blew me away. They've added in a lot of new improvements and updates that will make you come back for more.

first, they finally added in customizable characters, you can choose what style of a "rocker" he/she is then go into detail and change shoes, shirt, pants, etc. You can also rock out as your Xbox LIVE avatar which looks weird on stage, but at least they added it in.

Then we have the song list. It is BY FAR the best list of songs from Activision yet. Songs like "All Along the Watchtower" and "Kryptonite" had me singing while jamming on the guitar.

The visuals on stage have also improved over the years, designed for people who are watching, make the game just that much better.

However, even with the addition of drums and a mic from last year's "World Tour" the game seems to be losing a lot of its fluster, after years of playing it, the game doesn't have the enjoyment that Guitar Hero had on PS2.

If you're a fan and have some money lying around, then I would suggest picking this up, since it is a great party game (plays well with friends) but if you're saving up for a blockbuster game, I would advise passing on GH5.
