Guitar Hero: World Tour was an excellent follow up to the series, but it felt like the series was running out of steam. That all changes when Guitar Hero 5 rocks out. I played this for hours with some of my pals at my friend's birthday party, and we had a lot of fun. It isn't just better than World Tour, it's better than any other Guitar Hero game ever, and ranks up to Rock Band.
Me and my friends were surprised that the songs were pretty tough, even on easy difficulty for guitar. Challenge is always a key in rhythm games, and Guitar Hero 5 has it. I found classic songs such as "Running Down a Dream" By Tom Petty and "Dancing With Myself" by Billy Idol challenging but fun to play.
My one problem with the game is that the screen can blacken on certain times, making it frustrating to see what you're doing. Other than this, Guitar Hero 5 is virtually flawless. Any other criticism you make of this is basically a lie. The songs are the best ever released on a Guitar Hero package and provide a heavy sense of nostalgia.
The graphics look great. The rockers are detailed and the concerts and areas don't look half bad either. The music is the best, and the annoying sounds from World Tour aren't there on this box.

It's not an innovative step up to the series, but like Super Mario World, this is more addicting than any other game before it. You can't call yourself a rock fan if you haven't the time to purchase Guitar Hero 5, which is never too good to be true, and instead is great and true to what makes Guitar Hero so much fun.
