It's actually a pretty decent addition to the series. It has quite a bit of your favorite 80s hits. I was suprised too .

Guitar Hero is a great rhythm/music game series and I think Rock the 80s is definitely a great addition to the series. It includes such hits as 18 and Life, Holy Diver, Heat of the Moment, No One Like You, Seventeen, I Wanna Rock, and many more. The big thing that bugs me the most though is that fact that it is basically Guitar Hero II with an 80s make-over. I mean the opening credits the same but with a different song and the people are dressed different, every feature in the game in pretty much the same, and only your character has an 80s make-over, not your whole band. So it just seems like they put a whole lot of effort into changing the look of the game. However, the game does have a new list of songs. They are well synched and are indeed enjoyable. I spent at least 5 hours just playing Holy Diver. It's a very addicting list. Very addicting....
Another important thing is multiplayer. It's fun like always. You can take on your friends or go co-op with them.
Overall, I think this shaped out to be a impressive game that not many people are giving the right credit it deserves. If you're a Guitar Hero maniac, then you definitely need to get your hands on a copy, but if your not a huge fan, then I wouldn't bother spending $50 on it.
