As a semi-sequel to GHII, it fails miserably. As an Expansion, it does pretty well.

When I got this at the store, I was very excited. Even though GHII is the second best game ever, I got kinda tired of the songs. I also thought that this would have a bunch of hair metal, but it turns out, not much of that. Most of it is light-hearted rock. But the good songs are GREAT. "None Like You" and "Holy Diver" are freaking great. But the bad ones are downright terrible. "Heat of the Moment" and " The Warrior" are so broing I almost quit. They also did a terrible job of making it 80's-ish. Pretty much all they did was put a small coat of neon on half the things. The venues look exactly the same to my eyes (except for the Warped Tour).

All in all, it's worth a rental, but in no way is it worth $50. Fun to play through a few times in single player, great multi, but go back to GHII.
