And this was gonna be insane too...
The reason I'm writing this review so late is because, when I get a game I expect to be brilliant, I usually look past the faults, but a while later, I see all the problems. It's not that Guitar Hero 80's is a bad game, it's just that it recycles a lot of what GH2 had, with less content and a new coat of fluro and hairspray. It has less songs, most of which aren't brilliant, all the same concerts, encores occur at the same time, and yeah... But, it's not all bad. I love the 80's spin on all the characters, and as with their original designs, you'll instantly be able to tell which rocker they represent. A few songs really stand out, but some are terrible. Radar Love is there, but it's the White Lion version, it's not as memorable, but it's a lot more fun to play. Also, when I saw "I Wanna Rock" on the tracklist a month before the game's release, I was doing handstands! But, unfortunately, it's the original Master Track, and sounds garbage. It's things like this which really make the game fall.
Overall, Guitar Hero Encore: Rocks The 80's is a slapdash attempt by Harmonix to make a little money before the passed Guitar Hero on to go work on Rock Band.
